Installing Modpacks
Playing with mods requires both the server and your players to have the exact same mods installed.
1. Method A: 1-Click Installer (Recommended)
If your modpack is popular (e.g., Better MC, Vault Hunters, ATM9), you can install it instantly.
- Go to the Versions / Installers tab in the Game Panel.
- Search for your modpack by name.
- Click Install.
Warning: This will wipe your current server files. Make sure you have backed up any existing worlds!
2. Method B: Manual Installation
If your pack isn't in our 1-click system, you must install it manually via SFTP.
- Download the Server Pack ZIP from CurseForge or Modrinth. (Do not upload the client pack, it won't work).
- Delete everything in your Game Panel File Manager.
- Upload the Server Pack ZIP via SFTP and Unarchive it.
- If the pack includes an installer script (like
Install.batorforge-installer.jar), you may need to run that on your PC first to generate the libraries, or contact our support team to run it on the node for you. - Go to the Startup tab and ensure the
Server Jar Filevariable exactly matches the name of your Forge/Fabric/NeoForge jar file.
Java Versions
Different Minecraft versions require different Java versions. 1.8-1.12 requires Java 8. 1.16 requires Java 11. 1.17+ requires Java 17. 1.20.5+ requires Java 21. You can change your Docker Image (Java version) in the Startup tab.
