Sub-Users
Never give out your main account password! Instead, use the Sub-Users feature to invite your staff, developers, or friends to help manage the server.
1. Inviting a Sub-User
- Go to the Users tab in your server panel.
- Click New User.
- Enter their email address. If they don't have a MonsterNode account yet, the system will email them an invite link to create a password.
2. Configuring Permissions
You have granular control over exactly what a sub-user can see and do. Always follow the principle of least privilege.
- Control: Allows starting, stopping, and restarting the server.
- Console: Allows viewing the live console and sending commands.
- File Management: Allows viewing, editing, uploading, or deleting files. You can restrict them to read-only if needed.
- Backup Management: Allows creating or restoring from backups. Be careful, restoring a backup overwrites current data!
- Databases: Allows creating and managing MySQL databases.
Activity Logging
Every action taken by a sub-user is recorded in the Activity tab, including file edits, power actions, and console commands. You always know who did what.
